Our Philosophy

Many psychological problems can be complex and not readily understood without some in-depth assessment. Cost-cutting nationwide unfortunately has reduced support for comprehensive psychological evaluation. Our experience has found such evaluations necessary, particularly for the diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or academic/learning problems. Frequently, we find that better understanding early on leads to less delay in identifying problems and fewer sessions to address them. Thus, we will continue to offer full diagnostic work-ups and psychological testing when indicated or requested.

Anxiety, sadness, family circumstances, peer problems, or general noncompliance can negatively impact children's school performance. Children may under perform and yet their test scores do not qualify them for special services in the schools. This is where a comprehensive psychological evaluation would be helpful. Such an evaluation looks for all factors which may impact academic performance and behavior, and can bring to light the things that parents, teachers, and the student can do to increase school success.
